Alliance Française de Brisbane is delighted to partner with SAE University College Brisbane to bring you a monthly French cineclub series!
This initiative celebrates French cinema, offering everyone—students, film enthusiasts, friends, family, and the broader community—a
chance to explore French culture through film in an educational and engaging setting.
Join us for another Alliance Française Cineclub at SAE for another classic French film:
Hate (1994)
La Haine
Director: Mathieu Kassovitz
All night, clashes have set the youths of the “Muguets” estate against the police after Abdel, a sixteen-year-old boy, was savagely beaten during an interrogation and is now close to death. Among these kids, blinded by anger, are three ordinary friends: Hubert, Saïd, and Vinz. Together, they are about to live the most important day of their lives—the day when the story’s fourth protagonist appears: an automatic weapon gleaming with chrome, a 9mm Beretta reportedly lost by an undercover police officer during the riot.

The Cineclub is designed as both an educational tool and a celebration of French culture, combining entertainment with opportunities to deepen your knowledge of French cinema.
